WHAT TICKLED YOU AS A CHILD? In a world where being busy is the in-thing, we get so caught up with chasing shadows and forget the main object. According to this powerful tune by Hillsong, it says "Wide-eyed, mystified, may we be just like a child....may we never lose our wonder!"
So, I ask you, "Have you lost yours?"
EXERCISE (GET A JOURNAL): Sit back and take a deep breathe, take a trip to your 5 or 10 or 15 year old self and ask what he/she really wanted, what made you excited that you dreamt of doing for the rest of your life before the pressures of life stepped in.
Jot the thoughts that are pouring in, into a journal. Keep it close to you and keep taking these trips back to your younger self. Most times, that's the missing link!
There was a time when I longed to have a family that I could count on to love me through my insecurities, challenges and self esteem issues, but I never had anyone I could share as little and simple as my daily victories or even boy stuff and crushes, I come from a very uptight family, where it was just all about academics or nothing! Even play was restricted and as you can imagine, my dyslexic self suffered well, because I could never perform to the expectations of my parents and being the 1st child to 2 siblings, the pressure was on.... to be the perfect role model, read before a certain age and constantly being compared to the smartest when I couldn't execute.
We have the tendency to let every other person get a say over our lives before we can even catch our breath, we then give power to society, culture, our jobs, etc to dictate how we should really be and live.
Have you ever been in a situation where you let out control of who you're really meant to be and lost yourself in the pursuit of something else?

I’m eager to do this. And I like how direct the prompt was.. somehow I feel most parts of my childhood
I have blocked them off.
Also… there’s a lot of truth in what you shared.. looking inward will definitely be the solution but then.. what if there’s fear of what we find out… or rather dismay that time may be lost ?
Musing. But I’ll make that prompt. ☺️🥰
